Oblique Triangle |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||
The sum of three angles of the Oblique Triangle will total 180 degrees but none of the angles equals 90 degrees. The sum of the length of the two shortest sides must be greater than the length of the longest side. When solving a triangle with the Oblique Triangle module it is not necessary to know what type of triangle is being solved. The Oblique Triangle module will also solve a Right Triangle. In some situations there will be two solutions to a triangle. When this is the case the values of both solutions will be displayed and drawn. To solve an Oblique Triangle enter three pieces of information. Use the tab, enter or short cut keys, or click the mouse on the Text Box to enter information. There are three methods available to solve an Oblique Triangle. 1: enter one Angle and two Sides or, 2: all three Sides and no Angles or 3: two Angles and one Side. If two Angles are entered the third Angle will be calculated. When the third piece of information is entered use the tab, enter or, short cut keys, or click Calculate Oblique button with the mouse and the Triangle will be calculated. In some situations there will be two solutions. This will be shown by a second solution and will be seen in red on a color monitor. When the Triangle is calculated another Triangle will be drawn on the inside of the large working Triangle. |
